The Ripple Sole Shoe

October 18, 2026

On October 10, Richard Rudd led Return of the Merlin in Victoria. He spoke of archetypes, and of our capacity to write a new story.

Bear came to me there, out of the Animal Codex. A Healer. Inner Strength. Gene Key 34. Bear asks for a year of work on the physical plane, gentle, with a long view.

I claim Bear as my council for the year ahead.

Three days later, I listen to my Self. A circle I belong to records our sharings. My phone films mine as it plays back on the laptop. Then comes the listening.

My words meander past a boundary and keep going. Thread after thread arrives. Debt and value. Relief and nourishment. Near the end, my voice lands. Back to basics. Grounding, breathing, seeing what is here, responding. Bear as a companion for the long haul.

As a small child, I was called Big Mouth. Too much. Fear of my own voice followed for a lifetime. A big mouth, and still no way to make my Self understood.

So I hurried. Every idea out before it was gone, before someone else needed the space.

In the circle, the hurry slows. Bear sits beside me. Warm fur. Slow breath. A hundred-year grandfather redwood at my back. Rooted. Protected.

A song arrives. Full Permission. The deep pours through my mouth.

The old familiar way of being and behaving is leaving. Like a ripple-sole shoe. Comfortable. Painful. A quiet suffering. Now that the less mature part of me is leaving, jubilation comes with it. Excitement. Anticipation. Something great is about to happen to me.

Loss and jubilation arrive together. Both stay.

October 13, 2026 marks my entry point into an uncomfortable zone.
On October 13, 2027, I listen again and hear how far my voice has traveled.

Full permission.
